This was the second year that I have been invited to conduct a Gasshuku in Teluk Intan, Malaysia, by the Chief Instructor of Malaysia Sensei Billy, Veerappan Arumugam. I am pleased to say that the attendance was up on last year. The Gasshuku was dominated by Children, I have conducted many Courses for Children around the world and the Children of Malaysia are some of the best I have seen. There were about 60 people. Training was held for 5 hours a day over 4 days, 9.30 – 12.30 and 5.30 – 7.30. Basics, Kata and Impact drills would dominate the course. The weather was great with temperatures reaching 37°C and in the evening there were thunder storms but within an hour it was completely dry. My accommodation during my stay was The Grand Court Hotel in Teluk Intan, the rooms are very clean and comfortable and inexpensive, and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The food comes from a diverse background which includes Indian, Malay and Chinese so one can taste a variety of delicious dishes. I preferred the steamed and boiled sea food and noodles and Green tea as it dilutes and cleanses the body. I would like to thank the people that made this Gasshuku possible, Johnny M, Hi Lee Chong and the Director of Sport. George Andrews
