After a week of bad weather all fingers were crossed hoping that it would not rain this time and to our pleasure over the W/end it was fine, with bags packed and all equipment necessary on Saturday we travelled down to Winchester in two Mini- Buses which were sponsored by Henley Karate Club and Erith Air Cadets without your support it would have not been possible.
After a head count 32 people including parents, made the journey which normally takes 2 hours but due to holiday W/end the roads were packed so after 4 hours we arrived at the Campsite which is called Folly Farm, some of the people have never been camping before so after an endeavour they finally erected their tents.
Then gathering all the Children together we made our way to the Rapids Swimming Pool in Romsey were the Children and parents could enjoy a swim and a dip in the Jacuzzi, after 90 minutes of swimming it was time to make our way back to the campsite were a fire was prepared for a BBQ, where all appetites where fulfilled then the Children were allowed under supervision to cook Marshmallow’s over a fire.
Sunday morning after breakfast we went to Bournemouth Beach where the Children could wade in the sea and have a swim but there were no takers, then we made our way to the New Forest National Park which William the Conqueror set aside the Forest for hunting more than 900 years ago, there the Children could see and feel nature all around them and be in contact with the animals that roam free.
Before long it was time to pack up and head for home, the general consent was they wished they could have stayed longer, so next year I shall fulfil their wishes.
