Budosai to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Karate Do in England
Sensei Terry Wingrove of Cyberbudo recently organised a black belt only Martial Arts Festival at the famous National Sports Centre at Bisham Abbey in Marlowe. This was to recognise the 50th anniversary of karate do in England. The Budosai was attended by over 250 people who worked hard together in an atmosphere that was friendly and totally devoid of any politics.
Everyone from 1st up to 8th dan was eager to train and receive as much knowledge as they could. Some of the Masters that were teaching seminars would join in the training of other Masters that were teaching, there is a lesson for us all.
Teaching were: Higaonna Sensei 9th Dan Goju Ryu Gushi Sensei Uechi 9th Dan Uechi Ryu Pan Cheng Miao the head of the Ong Gong Shr Wu Shu Guan His sons Pan Xiong Chi and Chen Jiang Feng Sensei Yukiyoshi Marutani Sensei Kando Shibamori Sensei's Alan Ruddock Sensei Alex Da Costa
The accommodation and food was excellent. Everyone was able to enjoy meeting up after training and exchange comments about the training which in turn built new friendships and encouraged social interaction. The event was in my opinion a total success.
The Budosai is now going to be an annual event with the next being 8th-10th Aug 2008. Don't miss out regardless of style you will all be welcome, so put the dates in your diary.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank CyberBudo and all the staff for their hospitality.
