Gasshuku in Poland

This was my second visit to Lebork on the invitation of senior instructor Marian Czylkowski. The Gasshuku was over the weekend and with 120 people training, this doubled the attendance of my previous visit.

The standard was good, and in the five hours training each day I covered most of the curriculum. There is a big contingent of children and young people training in Lebork thanks to effort of Sensei Marian, 98% of the instructors in IOGKF Poland came for training, which shows their enthusiasm for knowledge and the pursuit of excellence.

It was not all Karate – Do, I was invited to dinner on Saturday evening in a massive log cabin which was an exaggerated replica of how the highlanders used to live in the early days in Poland. The place is magnificent, it also contains many wood carvings and has furniture to match. Everything is made of wood and scattered around are a variety of animals on display. I suppose it was all about survival and keeping warm and utilizing the resources available at that time. I really enjoy my stays in Poland because it is a country that has not been exhausted of its resources, I hope that it stays that way. Warm Ups

All Karate – Do groups in Poland are welcome to train with us, regardless of if you decide to affiliate or not. To me it is all about educating people in Martial Arts.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people that have supported me in the development of Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate Do in Poland. Together we can develop the future generations without hindrance.
