M.C.F 2006 Niagara Falls, Canada

24 countries lined up for what would be a memorial event, the I.O.G.K.F World Championships and the Miyagi Chojun Festival, which incorporated seminars, lectures and demonstrations from some of the senior instructors. The tournament was over 2 days, and the seminars were over 4 days, in attendance were about 350 - 400 people which was fantastic. The atmosphere and camaraderie was some of the best I have ever experienced. The organisation and interaction was professionally prepared with the evening events and entertainment providing fun for all attendees. The presentation of food during the welcome party and the Sayonara party covered all dietary requirements and tastes.

Looking out of my hotel window, which overlooked the Niagara Falls, was like watching a nature program and for the duration of my stay was the only T.V I needed. The staff at the hotel which was the Sheridan Falls view were very friendly and nothing was too much for them.

I was to my delight to be invited to go on a fishing trip with Nakamura San we both had success in our pursuit. I managed to catch a 12lb salmon and Nakamura San a 6lb trout. We were accompanied by Master Higaonna's son Seigi and two of Nakamura San’s student's Bruce and Howie, who were responsible for carrying the wine and food.We also had the pleasure of experiencing the power of nature during a power boat trip to the Devil's Whirlpool on the Niagara River , which nothing on this earth would save you from.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all participants and their families for their support in making this a life time experience for the English contingent.
