A visit to Israel
This was a very special trip for me, my first since the passing of my good friend and senior Sensei Leon. Whilst there I conducted classes at Sensei Leon's Dojo at the request of his wife Norma.
There was a wonderful feeling as if Sensei Leon was present during the training. I covered all the kata's and helped the instructors that are now running the classes at the Honbu Dojo in Israel. These are Eli Elfasi , Ariel-Ben Simon, Nitzam Ichenblat , Boaz Helig , and Danny Meisler and after training we met and talked over a cold beer.
I also taught at a private dojo every day during training I scrutinised the Kata Suparinpei, by the end of my trip there was a better understanding of the basic moves, but it was not all about training. My friend's who I have visited for the past 35 years that live near the Sea of Galilee have a private beach and allowed us to stay over the weekend.
Swimming, sunbathing and BBQ's dominated the weekend, as usual the weather was fantastic at 33c with a slight breeze. Soon my trip was coming to an end. The general atmosphere seemed to be more relaxed than on previous trips I hope this continues.
