Instructor Profile

Sensei S. Konesh 3rd Dan

Sensei Konesh was born 1976 in Sri Lanka (Tamil) and began his training in 1992 in Southall, London. Sensei S. Konesh has trained hard over the past 2 decades despite the great difficulties growing up away from his parents at a young age.

Konesh studied Goju Kai Karate with his first Sensei, Gurmit Singh (7th Dan) and has been training for over 20 years and was awarded 1st Dan black belt in 1995. At the young age of 18 years, Konesh began teaching karate for children in the Middlesex area. He was later awarded his 2nd Dan in 2002.

At the same time, he also studied Shobukan Karate with Shihan Philip A.J. Handyside (8th dan) and was awarded 3rd Dan in 2012. Following this, Konesh discovered Sensei George Andrews (8th Dan) and joined with Goju Ryu Karate-Do in 2013. Sensei Konesh has since continued to teach children as well as mentoring them, moulding them into the disciplined students they would later become.

"The hard training and discipline within Karate has kept me on the right path since a young age. Karate has kept me out of trouble from the start and it has helped me gain confidence, discipline and a healthy lifestyle and I hope to teach the next generation as I was taught before through Goju Ryu Karate." - S. Konesh
