Inaugural Women's weekend Course ~ February 2002

I am very pleased to report that the Women's weekend had representation from Germany, Sheffield, Oxford, Guildford and London. Throughout the weekend, I felt a wonderful feeling of friendship and camaraderie and the positive feedback which I received, was quite overwhelming.
Over the course, we covered all parts of the Goju-ryu System, including basics, kata, chishi, makiwara, body conditioning, self defence techniques, ukemi (breakfalls) and padwork. Everyone tried their best and trained very hard which I felt was truly uplifting and energising to be part.

I would like to thank everyone who participated for their efforts and attendance and for Sensei George Andrews, Andy Barker and Maroulla Sullivan for their excellent culinary skills and administration.

I intend to make this an annual event and once established, invite other female instructors to teach with me.

I look forward to seeing you all again soon.
