Sponsoring a child for a camping trip We try to take the children away for three camping trips a year, The Isle of Wight, Winchester and Carlisle. These trips are essential part of a child's understanding of helping each other, working as part of a team, building confidence, exploring new territories and making new friends. These children are from inner city London and quite often this is the only chance they have to see the world outside of the urban chaos. We hire a minibus, which is a big part of our budget, local councils do help sometimes but they always seem to be pre-booked far in advance. Besides transporting the children to and from the venue, we have to carry the camping equipment, tents, stoves and food with us, and as you can imagine catering for 15 kids requires quite a lot. We are seeking some financial help to make these trips easier and to put fewer burdens on the children and parents who help out. Because of the limit of funds, I can only manage to take the children away for 3 days, with your help and support we could stay for a week, which will greatly benefit the children.
