Poland Lebork Gasshuku October 2006 This is the third training this year I have conducted in Poland, this time at the request of Sensei Marian Czylkowski senior instructor in Lebork , where we had quite a good turnout with some 80 people lining up for training. The training was Saturday to Sunday with all grades, the IOGKF curriculum was the main menu, lots of emphasis on Kata and their methodologies in training. They are very enthusiastic about Okinawan Goju Ryu and have achieved a good standard, Sensei Marian invited the local television and the newspaper to do a presentation on Okinawan Goju – Ryu, this will be broadcast during the next week Making our way to the hotel in a town called Leba , I could not help but noticed the remains of the cold war, on stopping I could not resist a photo with what made The Soviet Bloc such a great fighting force in the shape of a MIG – 21, MIG – 29 and a Antonov checkout the photos. On Friday evening I was invited to visit the Museum of Lebork , which is situated in the middle of town, Since August 2005 the museum has held examples from the archeological excavations at chosen Pomeranian sites with the involvement of archeologists and anthropologists. The main focus was to show to project partners their research methods used during excavations and the basics of conservation of unstable materials like Ceramics, Metal, Wood, etc. My special thanks to the wonderful lady for giving me a private tour and explanation on the history, also in attendance was a brass band who were warming up in preparation for a concert. Please take a look at the website for information www.muzeum.lebork.pl I look forward to seeing them all again in June 2007 My thanks to all that made this trip a great success. George Andrews
