June Grading London 2003

This was a great weekend, with not so many people training as in the past but we all know the concept
of Goju-ryu, quality not quantity.

The weekends training would consist of the essence of Goju-Ryu, which is kata, and their applications, supplementary training, Chi-ishi (strength stone) then at a more tranquil pace the katas Sanchin and Tensho.

Everyone seemed to be enjoying the training, and working hard to better their technique.

Because we have two Dojo’s the children were able to have squad training in preparation for the London Youth Games, where 32 Borough’s congregate at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre in London.

They battle it out for the title of best Borough, I’m please to say that we manage to get in the top 10, lets hope that the children do better this year. We not only represent the London Borough of Southwark in karate, some of the children enter other events like football, rugby and angling. It’s such a good feeling when you steer there energies into an array of sports.

Saturday evening we always have a BBQ. where people can get together and reflect on the day’s events, and meet new and old acquaintances this is very important for future communications.
I’d like to thank all of you that attended and look forward to seeing you in the future.
