Hallam Dojo 10th Anniversary

October saw the 10th anniversary of Sheffield Hallam Dojo. Sensei Andy started the dojo after he stopped teaching at the University dojo originally at Hunters Bar in Sheffield. The dojo has gone from strength to strength and now has some 45 adult members including many of the original starters.

Members old and new will be celebrating this anniversary with a Japanese meal in Sheffield in November as October was a busy time for many members.

Sensei Andy was presented with a hand made Chi-Ishi carved from stone by one of the dojo's original members Richard Dixon who made the gift as a gesture of thanks from himself and the dojo.

A message from Sensei Andy

A heartfelt thanks to all the people who have supported me over the years at the dojo, as students or as assistants. The dojo has a great atmosphere which has been remarked upon by visiting karate-ka and is of a high standard as mentioned by Sensei George on his recent visit.

Without your commitment, drive, ambition and determination I wouldn't have the raw material to work upon, so the success of the dojo is a shared one.

I look forward to raising a glass at our celebration in November to another 10 years.
