Children's Camping Trip

The Meteorological Office predicted that the weather was going to be somewhat unsettled, I'm pleased to say that the weather was fantastic, it only rained heavily during the night.

In the morning, I was woken by the children that had spent their first night under canvas in their life, 5.45 to be precise! The sun and the sound of nature was welcoming, clambering around the fire that soon would show it's full potential and it's benefit, the children chatted about their first nights experience. The most important thing about camping is to be warm during the night, an inflatable bed and a warm sleeping bag will do the job. The next morning after a light breakfast it was to a brisk run twice around the campsite, which prepared them for an hour of the karate curriculum. Then swimming at the Rapids Swimming Pool to test their skills. On the way back to camp most seemed to be settled for a snooze, in preparation for lunch. The afternoon would be free for communication and interaction. The finished with a B.B.Q and lights-out.

Sunday was a repeat of the same as Saturday but to make things more interesting the children climbed a hill known as the Mizmaze this is a square maze 90 by 86 feet, found on St Catherine's Hill in Winchester. Monday and time to pack up all the tents and equipment and head for home but not before a visit to the INTEC Science and Technology Centre, where children can experience hands on technology, all enjoyed the trip and look forward to May 2007.

My special thanks to the parents that attended and helped over the weekend.
